Profile Perfect Level 278 Hints And Walkthrough

Profile Perfect Level 278 drops you into a group of five climbers, each with a person (sometimes two), a jacket color, a flag, an equipment item (sometimes two), and an altitude. The only initial answer is Climber B’s jacket being Teal. Several clues involve pairing male and female climbers, positional relationships between subjects, and some slash-separated cells that hold multiple values. Let’s work through it in a logical order.

Step 1: Use the initial answer and the “below 5000 m” clue

screenshot

The puzzle starts with Climber B’s jacket already known as Teal. Clue 1 says two climbers two columns away from something are below 5000 m, and the locked cells give us three direct placements: Climber C’s flag is Brazil, Climber A’s altitude is 3200, and Climber E’s altitude is 4100. So we write those in immediately. Both 3200 and 4100 are below 5000, which matches the clue.

Step 2: Climbers from Japan help us lock altitudes and flags

screenshot

Clue 13 tells us that climbers from Japan are at 3200 m and 5600 m. Climber A is already at 3200, so Climber A must be from Japan. That means Climber D is the other Japanese climber at 5600 m. We now have:

  • Climber A: Flag Japan, Altitude 3200
  • Climber D: Flag Japan, Altitude 5600

Step 3: The backpack clue gives us Climber A’s person and equipment

screenshot

Clue 7 says the climber with the Backpack has the shortest journey. The shortest altitude is 3200, so Climber A carries the Backpack. Clue 6 then confirms that Kael brings a Backpack. Therefore Climber A’s person is Kael, and his equipment is Backpack.

Step 4: Gender clues assign all persons

screenshot

Clue 2 says each male climber neighbors a female climber. The linked cells list Kael (Climber A), Tom and Pete (Climber C), and Omar (Climber E) as males. That leaves Charlotte (Climber B), Yuki (Climber D), and Rina (Climber E) as females. Clue 3 adds that two out of three female climbers are climbing alone – meaning they are not paired with a male in the same cell. Looking at the persons, Charlotte and Yuki are single entries, while Rina shares Climber E with Omar. So Charlotte and Yuki are the solo females, and Rina is the one climbing with a partner. Perfect match.

Clue 4 then states there is only one climber from Russia, and she is female. Since Charlotte is female and we already have Russia assigned to someone, the clue links Charlotte to Russia. So Climber B’s person is Charlotte, and her flag is Russia.

Step 5: Charlotte’s altitude comes from the “almost twice” clue

screenshot

Clue 14 says Charlotte’s altitude is almost twice as high as Rina’s. Rina is on Climber E at 4100 m. Twice that is 8200, so Charlotte’s altitude must be close: 8150 fits perfectly. Input Climber B’s altitude as 8150.

Step 6: The “between Russia and Oil Lamp” clue fills equipment

screenshot

Clue 5 tells us that Rope, Map, and Compass are between Russia and the Oil Lamp. Russia is Climber B, and the Oil Lamp is equipment belonging to Climber E (the clue links Oil Lamp to Climber E). So the subjects between B and E are Climber C and Climber D. Their equipment must include Rope, Map, and Compass. The clue links give:

  • Climber B also has Rope (part of a slash cell),
  • Climber C has Rope,
  • Climber D has Map and Compass (both values in one cell).

So we set:

  • Climber B: Equipment includes Rope (and later we’ll see Ice Axe as well),
  • Climber C: Equipment Rope,
  • Climber D: Equipment Map and Compass,
  • Climber E: Equipment Oil Lamp.

Step 7: Jacket colors fill in from neighbor and color clues

Clue 15 tells us Rina wears her favorite Gray jacket, so Climber E’s jacket color is Gray.

Clue 12 says more than one climber is wearing a Mustard-colored jacket. The linked cells point us to Climber C having Mustard. So Climber C’s jacket is Mustard.

Clue 9 states that “and jackets are used by Climber D and its neighbor.” The linked cells give Climber D’s jacket as Indigo. That also confirms Climber C’s jacket as Mustard. With Mustard taken and Gray taken, Climber A’s jacket must be Orange (the only remaining color among the five).

Step 8: Final flag and altitude placement

Clue 11 says the climber next to Brazil is not afraid of getting lost. Brazil is Climber C. The linked cells give Climber D’s equipment as Compass (already placed) and Climber E’s flag as Germany. So Climber E’s flag is Germany.

Now all flags are set: A Japan, B Russia, C Brazil, D Japan, E Germany.

The remaining altitude is Climber C. We have 3200, 8150, 5600, 4100 used, so only 6800 is left. Climber C’s altitude is 6800.

Finally, note Climber B’s equipment cell in the solved grid shows “Ice Axe / Rope.” The Rope was placed from clue 5, and the Ice Axe is the second value that appears in that slash cell. Similarly, Climber D’s Map and Compass are both listed. Climber C’s equipment is just Rope, and Climber E’s is Oil Lamp.

Solution: Finish the remaining matches

All five climbers are now fully determined. The completed grid matches the answer table at the top. There are no hidden values or extra steps – every clue contributed to a clean chain of deductions.

Trickiest Clues In Profile Perfect Level 278

Clue 1: “Both climbers 2 columns away from the are below 5000 m”

This clue is oddly phrased and could throw you off. The key is to ignore the vague wording and look at the linked cells. They directly give Climber A’s altitude (3200), Climber E’s altitude (4100), and Climber C’s flag (Brazil). So it’s really a value-dump clue: you can just plug those in without worrying about the positional part.

Clue 5: “, , and are between Russia and Oil Lamp”

Another clue with missing words. The linked cells reveal that “Rope, Map, and Compass” are the items. “Between Russia and Oil Lamp” means the subjects that lie between the Russia-flag climber (B) and the Oil Lamp equipment (E) – that’s Climber C and D. So you assign Rope to B and C, Map and Compass to D, and Oil Lamp to E. The tricky part is that B also gets Rope, even though it’s the Russia subject itself – the clue treats “between” as inclusive of the endpoints? Actually the linked cell shows B’s equipment as Rope, so it’s part of the set. Just follow the links.

Clue 9: “and jackets are used by Climber D and its neighbor”

This clue is incomplete, but the linked cells tell us the jackets: Mustard for Climber C and Indigo for Climber D. The phrase “and jackets” likely refers to the Mustard and Indigo colors. “Climber D and its neighbor” – the neighbor of D is C (since they are adjacent in the list). So you get both jackets at once.

Clue 14: “Charlotte’s altitude is almost twice as high as Rina’s”

Straightforward once you know Rina is on Climber E at 4100, and Charlotte on Climber B. “Almost twice” points to 8150 rather than exactly 8200. If you try to use 8200, it won’t fit because that altitude isn’t in the puzzle. So 8150 is the only logical choice.

Final Thoughts

Profile Perfect Level 278 is a satisfying solve once you get past a few oddly worded clues. The key is to start with the direct altitude and flag placements, then use the gender clues to pair up persons, and let the positional equipment clue fill in the middle. The slash-separated values for Climber B and D remind us that a cell can hold multiple correct answers – don’t try to force only one. With a clear head and a bit of patience, the whole grid clicks into place. Happy climbing!
