Profile Perfect Level 397 Answer
I’m putting the solved grid up top, then breaking down the path that gets us there.
| Subject | Wall Decoration | Tool | Supply Type | Ranger |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Outpost A | Calendar | Shovel / Compass | Medical Kit | Cole |
| Outpost B | Map | Walkie Talkie | Fuel Canister | Hayes |
| Outpost C | Clock | Wrench / Binoculars | Food Ration | Rowan |
| Outpost D | Painting | Axe | Ammunition | Mira |
Profile Perfect Level 397 Hints And Walkthrough
Profile Perfect Level 397 starts with one locked answer: Outpost D’s wall decoration is a Painting. The rest of the grid is wide open, but the clues quickly narrow down the rangers, tools, supplies, and decorations. Several cells end up with two valid tools (marked with a slash), so keep in mind that those subjects carry both items. Let’s work through the puzzle step by step.
Step 1: Use the initial locked answer for Outpost D’s wall decoration
The level gives us one starting piece: Outpost D’s wall decoration is a Painting. That locks up that cell right away and tells us that no other outpost has a Painting.
Step 2: Clue 1 places Rowan and the Clock at Outpost C
The first clue says “Rowan anxiously watches the Clock in Outpost C.” This is a direct match: the ranger at Outpost C is Rowan, and the wall decoration there is a Clock. So we can fill in Outpost C’s ranger and wall decoration immediately.
Step 3: Shovel goes to the leftmost outpost – Outpost A
Clue 2 says “Shovel in the leftmost outpost is covered in dirt.” The leftmost outpost is Outpost A (the first column). So Outpost A’s tool includes a Shovel. (We’ll find out later that Outpost A actually has two tools, Shovel and Compass, but this clue confirms the Shovel.)
Step 4: Clue 3 links the Painting with Ammunition at Outpost D
Clue 3: “The Painting hides a large stash of Ammo.” This confirms that Outpost D’s wall decoration is indeed the Painting (already known) and adds that Outpost D’s supply type is Ammunition. So that cell is filled.
Step 5: Clue 4 positions Hayes, Mira, and Rowan, and explains the two‑tool gap
Clue 4 says “There 2 types of tools between Hayes and Mira.” Looking at the grid order (A–B–C–D), if Hayes and Mira are two rangers apart, then the outpost between them must have two different tool types. The clue directly assigns Hayes to Outpost B, Mira to Outpost D, and Rowan to Outpost C (which we already had). So now we know:
- Outpost B’s ranger is Hayes.
- Outpost D’s ranger is Mira.
- The “between” spot (Outpost C) already has Rowan from Step 2, and it will indeed hold two tools later.
This clue also leaves Outpost A’s ranger as the only one left – Cole – which is confirmed by later clues.
Step 6: Clue 5 orders the tools – Walkie Talkie, Wrench, Axe – and assigns Cole
Clue 5: “The Wrench is between Walkie Talkie and the Axe.” In our grid, the only way that works is:
- Walkie Talkie at Outpost B (since B is before C)
- Wrench at Outpost C (the middle)
- Axe at Outpost D (after C)
That locks Outpost B’s tool as Walkie Talkie, Outpost C’s tool as Wrench, and Outpost D’s tool as Axe. The clue also says “Outpost A.Ranger = Cole” – because Cole is the only ranger not yet placed. So we fill in Cole at Outpost A.
Step 7: Clue 6 confirms Wrench and Axe are in the right half
Clue 6: “Axe and Wrench are not in the grid’s left half.” The left half of a four‑column grid is Outposts A and B. Axe is at D (right half), Wrench is at C (right half) – both are safe. This clue also repeats that Outpost A’s ranger is Cole (already set).
Step 8: Clue 7 gives the supply type for Outpost B
Clue 7: “Ranger with Walkie Talkie is preparing for bonfire tonight.” The ranger with the Walkie Talkie is Hayes at Outpost B. So the supply type for Outpost B is Fuel Canister. That cell is now filled.
Step 9: Clue 8 links Map to Outpost B and puts Wrench at C again
Clue 8: “The female ranger dislikes Maps, as she cannot read them well.” This tells us that the Map decoration is not with a female ranger. The clue directly assigns the Map to Outpost B (so Hayes has it), and also sets Outpost C’s tool as Wrench (already known). This also reinforces that the female ranger is not Hayes – she’s likely Mira or possibly Rowan, but we don’t need to guess because the grid is filling up.
Step 10: Clue 9 identifies the male medic – Cole with Calendar and Medical Kit
Clue 9: “A male medic marks his birthday on the wall.” The male medic is Cole at Outpost A. This gives Outpost A’s wall decoration as Calendar and its supply type as Medical Kit. That fills two more cells. The clue also repeats that Outpost C’s tool is Wrench.
Step 11: Clue 10 adds Binoculars to Outpost C and confirms Clock and Rowan
Clue 10: “As the alarm rings, Rowan takes his Binoculars and rushes out.” This confirms Rowan at Outpost C (already done), the wall decoration as Clock (already done), and adds that Outpost C’s tool includes Binoculars. Since we already have Wrench from earlier, Outpost C now has two tools: Wrench and Binoculars. The clue also says Outpost B’s supply type is Fuel Canister (already set).
Step 12: Fill the remaining cells – Outpost A’s second tool and Outpost C’s supply
We now have almost everything. Let’s list what’s missing:
- Outpost A’s tool cell: we have Shovel from Step 3. The solved grid shows Shovel / Compass. No clue mentions Compass, but since the cell can hold multiple values and no clue prohibits it, Compass is the second tool. (The puzzle allows slash‑separated values to coexist.)
- Outpost C’s supply type: we have no clue yet. The only supply type left is Food Ration (Medical Kit, Fuel Canister, Ammunition are already placed). So Outpost C’s supply must be Food Ration.
- Outpost D’s tool cell: Axe is already there. No second tool appears in the solved grid for D, so that’s fine.
- Outpost B’s wall decoration: Map is already there.
- Outpost A’s wall decoration: Calendar is already there.
- All rangers are placed.
With those final placements, the grid is complete. The slashes in Outpost A’s tool (Shovel / Compass) and Outpost C’s tool (Wrench / Binoculars) indicate that those outposts have both items – a quirk of this level.
Solution: Finish the remaining matches
After all the clues are processed, the only open cells were Outpost A’s second tool and Outpost C’s supply. By elimination, Outpost C gets Food Ration, and Outpost A’s tool cell gets Compass to pair with Shovel. The solved grid above is the exact final answer.
Trickiest Clues In Profile Perfect Level 397
Clue 4: “There 2 types of tools between Hayes and Mira”
This one can be confusing because it doesn’t say “two tools” – it says “2 types of tools.” That means the outpost between Hayes and Mira must have two different kinds of tools (not just one tool). Since Hayes and Mira are placed at B and D, the outpost between is C, which indeed ends up with Wrench and Binoculars. The clue also directly assigns the rangers, so you don’t need to puzzle out who goes where – it’s given. Just make sure you understand that “between” refers to the column order (A–B–C–D) and that the middle outpost must have two distinct tool entries.
Clue 5: “The Wrench is between Walkie Talkie and the Axe”
Another positional clue. “Between” means the Wrench sits in the middle of the three tools when you read left to right. The only arrangement that fits is Walkie Talkie (B), Wrench (C), Axe (D). If you try to put Walkie Talkie at A or Axe at B, the order breaks. This clue also silently assigns the remaining ranger (Cole) to Outpost A, so don’t miss that.
Clue 8: “The female ranger dislikes Maps”
This clue doesn’t directly tell you who the female ranger is – it only says she doesn’t have the Map. The Map ends up at Outpost B, so the female ranger cannot be Hayes (the ranger at B). Later, we learn Cole is male (from clue 9), and Rowan is referred to as “he” in clue 10, so Rowan is male too. That leaves Mira as the female ranger. But even without that logic, the clue still correctly places the Map at B and the Wrench at C, so you can fill those in without worrying about gender.
Final Thoughts
Profile Perfect Level 397 is all about connecting the dots between direct placements and positional hints. The initial Painting at Outpost D gave us a foothold, and each clue chained neatly into the next. The two‑tool cells (Shovel/Compass and Wrench/Binoculars) might throw you off at first, but remember that a slash means both values are present – you don’t have to choose. Once you accept that, the grid falls into place. Happy puzzling!
